Although born in California, Maile was raised in Wai’anae, Hawai’i, spending much of her time surfing, riding motorcycles, and swimming. Her relentless work ethic has enabled her to work in the construction management industry while raising her 2 sons, always remaining actively involved in their academics and athletics. She has been the Administrative Assistant, Special Events Coordinator, and Clinic Coordinator for the nonprofit organization Nā Kama Kai and continues to support and work at their community events. Her experience with Nā Kama Kai has made her a valuable volunteer at other community surf events, including the Buffalo Big Board Surfing Classic, Rell Sunn Menehune Surfing Contest, Da Hui Backdoor Shootout and StandUp Paddle Race, and Braddah Mel’s Waterman Championship.
