Brian is an internationally known waterman who has competed in all watersports, including swimming, surfing, paddling, and sailing. He worked as a City and County Lifeguard from 1983-1996 and has been credited with revolutionizing rescue techniques with the introduction of jet skis and rescue sleds. After serving as Captain of the Leeward District, Brian left the department in 1996 to further his career in the film industry and has been heavily recruited as a stuntman, stunt coordinator, producer and co-director. Eager to share his extensive experiences and knowledge of ocean safety and risk assessment, Brian co-founded the Big Wave Risk Assessment Group (BWRAG), training surfers to be highly skilled Surf Responders. He also trains the Military Special Forces, lifeguards, police, and firefighters in life saving techniques. Volunteering to provide water safety services for numerous ocean related events, Brian also serves as Contest Director for the Buffalo Big Board Surfing Classic.
